Welcome

Imagine Home  is best known for our custom cat transport services.
We specialize in relay-style transports, with cats in carriers passed from one trusted volunteer driver to the next, from start to destination. Every Imagine Home transport is designed to meet that particular cat’s needs, while they travel safely and comfortably to their destination.

Below, you will find a selection of our current transport event sign-up sheets. Take a look, you may see one coming through your area!

JEN MARKS TRANSPORT
Corpus Christi, Texas to Suamico, Wisconsin

Date: March 3, 2018

Some people say that black cats are very unlucky. For a sweet kitten named Jen Marks, the opposite is true!

Jen Marks was minding her own business in South Texas, when one day she was unceremoniously dumped outside the home of Miss Michelle, by some mean people in a car. Our lucky Jen Marks, House Panfur Extraordinaire was quickly snatched up and brought inside by Miss Michelle. A kitten! In the summer in South Texas! A black kitten!

Miss Michelle has been doing all the good stuff that a responsible foster momma does. Vet checks, shots, set to be spayed, a comfy bed, and tasty food. But all along, Miss Michelle knew that there was somebody in need of Jen Marks.

Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, Amy had recently lost her senior cat due to complications from old age. Miss Michelle says that baby Jen Marks spoke to her heart and mind, and said she would like to help Amy heal from her recent loss. In fact, Jen Marks was supposed to go to Wisconsin this past summer, but, a nasty rare hurricane hit Corpus Christi. Things happened.

All is well now though, and Jen is five or six months older. Old enough to say "Thanks, Miss Michelle! I'm ready to go Home!"

It's a long way from Corpus Christi to Wisconsin, Nation. Three whole days long! Can we make this happen for Miss Michelle, Jen Marks, and Amy, and house panfurs everywhere? Let's show the world how lucky black cats really are! Let's get her Home!

If you haven't already done so, and are helping to transport a cat, you MUST also be signed up on our database: www.imaginehome.org/wp/volunteer/driver-application-form/ (We assure you that your private information is held in the strictest of confidence.) If we do not have your complete contact information no later than 72 hours before an event, we will be forced to use a Backup Transporter.

While the route itself is generally fixed, we leave it to our drivers to choose the best meeting place. This site will help you figure out what is in the area: http://exitexplorer.com. We do ask that you let your Transport Coordinator know your set location.

Your official run sheet will be sent out as soon as possible to all drivers on a transport; however, we know some drivers will wish to start planning meeting locations before it comes out.

When you sign up as a primary transporter, we encourage you to contact the driver of the leg on either side of you at your convenience to begin making plans. If you do not know that person, contact your transport coordinator who will be happy to put you in touch with each other.

Backup Transporters: until the day of the event, we will not know if you are needed. Additionally, emergencies CAN and MAY happen on the day of the event. We still expect you to be available if needed on Event Day.

Please remember when setting up meeting places and exchanging personal info that this event is posted on a public page. We ask, for your safety, that you do so in a private venue. Please be sure to exchange a vehicle description, and also pass this information to your Transport Coordinator.

*****PLEASE BE SURE TO READ OUR POLICY AND PROCEDURES FOR SAFE TRANSPORT*****

By signing up, you are agreeing that you have read and agree to the policies outlined on our Required Info for Transporters page: www.imaginehome.org/wp/volunteer/required-info-for-drivers/. You will want to be sure to have a "Transport Kit", containing bottled (or filtered) water, paper towels, pet safe wet wipes, and/or rags and towels for emergency cleanup needs. A more detail list of suggested supplies is also available on the Required Info for Transporters page.

What is Imagine Home?

Imagine Home assists with feline rescue, adoption, and transport by gathering and maintaining databases of contacts and information helpful to rescue.

Imagine Home came about by accident, or providence, ultimately through the tragedy of Jack the Cat. Click here for Jack’s story. We were brought together to form an organization to help rescued cats.

Our Immediate Vision: Assist adopters, fosters, transporters, and rescues in any way we can, through our volunteers and contacts. We encourage you to share your recommendations of individuals or groups to add to our network. You are the means for us to be able to do this.

We are working hard to keep our costs very low, however, there are some basic maintenance costs associated with operating our organization. If you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation, you may do so here:
