Imagine Home is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization & resource for all aspects of cat rescue.
Imagine Home is best known for our custom cat transport services.
We specialize in relay-style transports, with cats in carriers/crates passed from one trusted volunteer driver to the next, from start to destination. Every Imagine Home transport is designed to meet that particular cat’s needs, while they travel safely and comfortably to their destination. Imagine Home assists with feline rescue, adoption, and transport by gathering and maintaining databases of contacts and information helpful to rescue.
Below, you will find a selection of our current transport event sign-up sheets. Take a look, you may see one coming through your area!

Guinevere (Gwen for short ) is a rare Chausie cat. If you are not familiar with Chausie cats, The Chausie is a domestic breed of cat that was developed by breeding a few individuals from the non-domestic species jungle cat (Felis chaus) to a far greater number of domestic cats. The Chausie is categorized as a non-domestic hybrid source breed. Because Chausies are mostly descended from domestic cats, by about the fourth generation they are fully fertile and completely domestic in temperament. Gwen has lived with her owner for about 5 years, but unfortunately we all know that life likes to throw us for a loop. Gwen’s family situation has changed drastically. Gwen's family suffered a few serious unthinkable changes starting with the loss of her human dad. Gwen is not fond of humans at all. After careful consideration and consulting her vet that has been caring for her for the past 5 years, the decision was made to find her a place where she could be with other Chausie cats and be cared for the rest of her life. Her mom Lena, reached out to The Wildcat Sanctuary in Minnesota and happily, they have agreed that she would fit perfectly there with the other Chausie Cats they have in their sanctuary. Imagine Home Nation, let's get Gwen to the next chapter in her story!
If you haven't already done so, and are helping to transport a cat, you MUST also be signed up on our database: www.imaginehome.org/wp/volunteer/driver-application-form/ (We assure you that your private information is held in the strictest of confidence.) If we do not have your complete contact information no later than 72 hours before an event, we will be forced to use a Backup Transporter.
While the route itself is generally fixed, we leave it to our drivers to choose the best meeting place. This site will help you figure out what is in the area: http://exitexplorer.com/. We do ask that you let your Transport Coordinator know your set location.
Your official run sheet will be sent out as soon as possible to all drivers on a transport; however, we know some drivers will wish to start planning meeting locations before it comes out.
When you sign up as a primary transporter, we encourage you to contact the driver of the leg on either side of you at your convenience to begin making plans. If you do not know that person, contact your transport coordinator who will be happy to put you in touch with each other.
Backup Transporters: until the day of the event, we will not know if you are needed. Additionally, emergencies CAN and MAY happen on the day of the event. We still expect you to be available if needed on Event Day.
Please remember when setting up meeting places and exchanging personal info that this event is posted on a public page. We ask, for your safety, that you do so in a private venue. Please be sure to exchange a vehicle description, and also pass this information to your Transport Coordinator.
*****PLEASE BE SURE TO READ OUR POLICY AND PROCEDURES FOR SAFE TRANSPORT*****
By signing up, you are agreeing that you have read and agree to the policies outlined on our Required Info for Transporters page: www.imaginehome.org/wp/volunteer/required-info-for-drivers/. You will want to be sure to have a "Transport Kit", containing bottled (or filtered) water, paper towels, pet safe wet wipes, and/or rags and towels for emergency cleanup needs. A more detail list of suggested supplies is also available on the Required Info for Transporters page.
