Good bye 2021

No description available.

Happy 2022! As we say goodbye to 2021, we find ourselves reflecting on the year that just passed. When I look back at 2021 my first thought is, holy cow what a year it has been.

2021 brought many obstacles for everyone both on a personal level and a work level. It even affected rescues across the US. Transport groups had to put transports on hold again during the first few months of 2021. There were crazy natural disasters, the weather was unpredictable, many lost loved ones in 2021, many small businesses closed their doors, and a host of other things that would make you twitch even on a good day.

When I think of 2021 this quote comes to mind, “Out of darkness is born the light.”~Catherine of Siena.

While 2021 had many dark periods, we at Imagine Home found light. All of you provided the light for us. We would not have accomplished all that we were able to without the help of all of you. Imagine Home was able to help so many more humans and kitties then we have helped in the past.

Take a quick look at how your donations helped so many kitties and humans in 2021!!

—           With a global pandemic going around, we put new protocols in place to make transports as safe as possible for our drivers and were able to transport 20 kitties.

—           Emergency transport supplies and vetting, flights with a flight nanny for kitties to get home $1,5678.45

—           Helping our cat community that needed assistance with food, litter and emergency vetting so they were able to keep their loving fur babies-$1,726.12

—           Providing sponsorship to five kittens for vetting so they could go to a rescue, and sponsoring Creamsicle for a year. $665.00

—           Adopt a senior cat month. All but three kitties that we spotlighted had their adoption fees sponsored. Eight spotlighted senior kitties were adopted!!! Imagine Home was able to sponsor five adoption fees $221.27

—           Flood with Love. In December we were able to help out GreyFace Retirement and Rescue in MN. They recently started rescuing senior cats from local shelters, so they did not have a much for them at their facility. They can only house five senior cats at a time in their facility. We were able to donate 5 Kuranda  beds, 5 self-heating pads and 5 scratch boards to help the senior kitties decompress and be more comfortable. We sent much needed food to Emmet County Animal Shelter in Iowa. They are in a rural area with only 6000 residents. They have a very low adoption rate and currently have 49 kitties in their care. $782.90

—           When the devasting tornadoes hit the south, we scrambled to see who we could help and how. The Mayfield, KY tornado leveled most of the town. Mayfield County Animal Shelter was still standing, and they put out a plea for help. They had many displaced cats and dogs with more being rescued daily. They were not able to receive supplies via mail at that time due to the post office and Amazon warehouse nearby being damaged. Imagine Home was able to forward them a monetary donation to help send someone to another town to get supplies. $200.00

—           We also made a monetary donation to help a rescue that had trapped a senior kitty in bad shape to assist with his vetting. $100.00

2021 may have been very uncertain times for everyone, but I would say that looking at all the love and light we as a village were able to spread makes it so much better of a year. We are very blessed to have each of you and sincerely  thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued love and support. We will call it a successful 2021 and we welcome 2022.  We cannot wait to see what 2022 will bring.
